Bringing Save The Rhino International into the Classroom

This week we’re excited to share all the ways that schools can bring rhino conservation to life in the classroom with Save the Rhino International’s fantastic educational resources. Ideal for teaching subjects like biodiversity, ecosystems and conservation, these free resources take a fun and engaging approach to learning and cover a range of subjects for budding little conservationists.

Save the Rhino International lesson ideas for teachers

1. Science: study endangered species and ecosystems

Delve into the detail around the different species of rhino, why rhinos are endangered and their varied habitats with free downloadable factsheets to share with pupils.

2. Geography: explore habitats and global conservation efforts

Find out where rhinos live and what’s being done to save them including how zoos around the world are supporting conservation efforts. You’ll find a free downloadable factsheet to support this lesson too!

3. Art/English: get creative about wildlife protection

Bring fun and education together with creative projects to get their juices flowing. Save the Rhino International have a variety of activities to get you started, from word searches and crosswords to animal masks and colouring patterns.

4. PSHE: encourage environmental responsibility

Inspire students to take part in a fundraising project for Save the Rhino International and engage their sense of environmental responsibility. There are so many ways to get involved, like running a bake sale, having a quiz night or organising a fun run. Fundraising also teaches valuable life skills like goal setting, accountability and financial literacy.
