Scrapbook RHINO blog - Rhino Stationery

The How-To Series: Issue 5 Paper Stationery

School breaks can be a challenging time for parents, educators, and childcare providers, without structured learning, many children need engaging, screen-free activities to keep them entertained.

We have some ideas below for paper-based activities that are not just fun; they encourage creativity, cognitive development, and fine motor skills while offering a refreshing alternative to all-consuming digital entertainment.

How can you provide exciting screen-free activities?

  1. DIY Storybook: Let your little ones create their storybook, and encourage their creativity by allowing them to write and illustrate in their own unique way, with our Split-Page Project Books or Cornell Exercise books!

2. Journaling: Encourage children to write down what they’ve been up to during their school break in their own journals and notebooks, allowing them to reflect and express their thoughts through travel logs, gratitude journals, or even adventure books, whether they are primary or secondary school age, this works for all!

3. DIY Greeting Cards: A creative task for your kids could be to make cards for family and friends out of cards, cut out stickers, drawings, and hand-write messages to personalise each one. You could even make this out of your School Exercise Books you no longer need, allowing you to be kind to the environment by upcycling, and they'd make great colourful designs!
